9.4 Common Neurological Conditions
Nurses care for clients with neurological disorders in a variety of clinical settings. Nervous system disorders can occur at any time during the life span and can be very mild to significantly severe or even life-threatening. The remaining sections of this chapter will describe several common neurological conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, seizures and epilepsy, meningitis, cerebrovascular accident, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and other nervous system disorders.
