Jacob, a 32-year-old male, presents to the emergency department with severe pain on his right flank. The pain started suddenly and has been intensifying over the past 4 hours. On examination, he is found to be in moderate distress, pale, diaphoretic, and has a blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg. His heart rate is 120 bpm, respiratory rate is 26 breaths/min, and temperature is 37.2°C. Physical examination reveals right costovertebral angle tenderness and marked dehydration.
