Jacob, a 32-year-old male, presents to the emergency department with severe pain on his right flank. The pain started suddenly and has been intensifying over the past four hours. On examination, he is found to be in moderate distress, pale, diaphoretic, and has a blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg. His heart rate is 120 bpm, respiratory rate is 26 breaths/min, and temperature is 37.2°C. Physical examination reveals right costovertebral angle tenderness and marked dehydration.
