To truly understand the mechanism of actions of various cardiovascular and renal system medications and their potential adverse effects, it is vital to have a solid understanding of the anatomy and physiology underlying the cardiovascular system.
The remaining sections of this chapter will review classes of medications related to the cardiovascular and renal systems, including administration considerations, therapeutic effects, adverse/side effects, and patient education.
