Acknowledgments
Darrel would like to thank:
First, I want to thank my wife, Brin Farmer, for being my constant support system and helping take on extra responsibilities at home that made the work on this project possible. You are the love of my life and everything I accomplish is something that you contribute to both directly and indirectly. I would also like to thank my daughter, Luna Farmer, for being our family’s guiding light and providing motivation to always push for extra projects like this.
Second, I would like to thank Vince Mussehl and the CVTC team that helped us craft the project, revise our plan when feedback directed us in a different advantage, and for working so diligently to help maintain the grant funding for this important work. Projects like this wouldn’t exist without his leadership and dedication. Additionally, my co-editor, Bridget Bell, for being so easy to collaborate with and letting her positive energy rub off constantly as we worked through this process. I feel very lucky that we got to work together on this project.
Thirdly, I would like to thank my WTCS colleagues, our external reviewer, Sophia Dramm, and everyone who contributed with feedback, new ideas, and direction during our many review processes. Your thoughtful comments helped improve this work and I hope you feel that the final product represents the desires embedded in your comments.
Finally, I would like to thank the Department of Education for funding this project and making all the work that we did here possible. I believe that OER is such a valuable contribution to the education space that these opportunities will serve students for years to come. Additionally, to thank our leadership at CVTC that is always encouraging us and allowing us for professional opportunities for growth: Stephanie Esser, John Kleven, Dawn Johnson, and Andy Freeberg. Your drive for collaborative work opens doors for projects like this to exist and I appreciate it.
Bridget would like to thank:
I want to thank Vince Musselh for asking me to assist with this project. It has been a wonderful opportunity, and I’m deeply proud of the work that CVTC and WTCS system have done towards developing high-quality OERs. A special thanks to Darrel Farmer, my co-editor on this project. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on this with you, and I’m grateful for the collaboration and support in this journey. To the Chippewa Valley Technical College WisTech Open team, thank you for all your efforts and assistance on this project and others.
To my Communication colleagues at Gateway Technical College, I want to thank Lisa Packard for always being supportive and helpful. To Tina Shanahan and Gretchen Comcowich, for constant support and encouragement. To the rest of my colleagues, your impact on life may not always be known, but in some way, you each allow me to strive to be better for our students and institution. I cannot put into words what that means to me.
To Mike Latza and Elizabeth Aiossa, my constant mentors, no matter what project or question, you have always supported me. I can never say thank you enough.
To my family, friends, and colleagues, I am forever grateful for my network and support system.
Last, I want to thank all students across the WTCS system and across the world. This book is for you. And you are why I do this work.
